Mosaic Fernwood Phase I

The third project for MtC led by Shylene, a resident of Fernwood for the last six years, and in partnerships with the Fernwood Community Centre, the Fernwood Community Association and the Cox family.

Central's Community Unity Project.

Central Middle School, location of Victoria's first school houses, completed their Community Unity Project in June 2004.. Everyone in the Fernwood, Craigderich area was invited to participate in this wonderful community art project.

This project took over a year to plan and complete. For more information check out the project journal.

2003

Mosaic the City is an initiative that grew from the inspiration of the mosaicist Shylene Schlackl. During the spring and summer of 2003, Shylene was joined by a group of community organizers and business people to create the Mosaic the City organization based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Before the summer four projects had begun the planning stages. Mosaic the Market 2003 took place June to September.
